Steward Report

This report was written using information from Tim, Jon Hyland and the steward team.

Tim got contact information for the Fire Marshall.  FM is currently on vacation and will be back after Labor Day weekend.  Tim will contact him next week to schedule a time for him to assess the Grange so we can get official capacity signs.

Also from Tim, who recently wet and compacted the new entryway DG.  During the dry season, wetting the entryway DG before leaf blowing it clear of debris will reduce DG erosion issue near kitchen door and will also reduce the dust that normally gets kicked up when we use the leafblower.

Fresh update from Jon Hyland: I (Jessica) put some comments in brackets for context

The protruding screws in the attic floor have been cut off.

[The front restroom, that was until recently labeled] The men’s bathroom still has some unpleasant smell but it’s not overwhelming.
I don’t smell any septic odors outside and haven’t since the recent work. [Kendra has an idea about the source of the smell.]

Humidity monitoring project

[Jon purchased 3 new humidity sensors] The directions are in the product box in the corner adjacent to the stage dehumidifier.

They can be wi-fi enabled for remote access to information.

I installed a clear hose onto the stage dehumidifier for observation.

End Jon's update. Thank you, Jon!

According to Tim,  one humidity sensor will be installed backstage, one will be in the basement, and the third will be put into the chair room.  The basement and backstage will each have a data sheet on a clipboard to write down information from dehumidifier, humidity meter, watt reader etc so we can assess how well we are managing the Grange's moisture level.

Datasheet draft 1 has been written. The plan is for it to be finalized in time to be used at next Saturday's Volunteer Day. Data will be recorded on sheet each month on Volunteer day.  We will collect a full year's data.  Does the Grange have clipboards we can use or do we need to purchase them?

No mice were captured upstairs or in the basement in the last month.

The kitchen curtains selected by Peggy and Bruce were installed by Bruce and Jaci last week.  Thanks to all three of them.

The missing toilet paper roll spindle has not yet been replaced.  It needs a spindle slightly over 5 inches long.  It looks  nonstandard.  I will look at replacement spindles next week, and if I can't find a replacement part, I will just get a new toilet paper dispenser.  I will try to find an affordable one that is somewhat like the old one.
